Recently, anti-choice extremists in the House (including 16 Democrats) voted to pass H.R. 3- a virulently anti-choice bill that goes far beyond any other anti-choice measure that has been proposed in the House, including the Stupak Amendment that passed the House last year.
On the same day that H.R. 3 passed the House, Republican Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi introduced identical legislation into the Senate.
With at least 46 anti-choice Senators and only 40 solidly pro-choice Senators, a Senate vote on this bill could be incredibly close.
But Sen. Harry Reid can make sure it doesn’t even come to that. As Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Reid controls what bills come to a vote.
I just signed a petition telling Sen. Reid to stop the war on women by refusing to bring this assault on women’s health and lives to a vote in the Senate. I hope you’ll join me.
